Eldon Raceway 4-Banger Rules

Chassis and Body: Maximum wheelbase 105 inches. No full frame cars allowed. All interior trim, carpet, headliners, etc. must be removed. All headlights and taillights must be removed. Stock steering and pedals must be used. Insulation under hood must be removed. Sunroofs must be sealed over with metal. Must use stock suspension. No mid engine, rear engine, T-top, or convertible cars. No all wheel drive cars. No gutting of body parts with exception of drivers door for door bar clearance. All holes in front and rear firewall must be covered with sheet metal. Absolutely no adding of weight.

Roll cage: Must be constructed of 1 ¾ x .095 tubing. Four post cage required. Must have x in rear hoop. Bars off of top of rear hoop going down at approximately 45 degree angle and be bolted through floor pan. The roll bar is to be welded to a minimum of 4 inch by 4 inch square plate-quarter inch thick or bolted to a similar plate beneath (sandwiched) using a half inch grade 5 bolt at each corner. Recommended roll cage should also be fastened to the roof of the car in all four corners. Minimum of three door bars on drivers side of cage. Minimum of three windshield bars in front of driver (3/8 minimum), screen in front of driver is recommended.

Fuel and fuel tanks: Fuel cell required (maximum of 12 gallons). Pump gas only. Must be metal fire wall between driver and cell. Fuel lines through driver compartment must run through metal pipe or conduit.

Tires and wheels: Must run stock DOT tires. No snow tires. 6 inch maximum wheels. (OEM type only) No aluminum wheels. The front two tires must be the same size, side to side. The back two tires must be the same side to side. 30 lbs. Minimum air pressure in all four tires. Tires will be checked.

Bumpers: Stock unaltered bumpers and bumper shocks only. Car must have wrecker tow chain in front and back.

Engines and transmissions: No turbo or super chargers. Four cylinder only. One stock carburetor, one throttle body, or factory multi port fuel injection system only, must be stock for that make and model. All engines must remain in stock location. No reinforcing except installation of front cross bar or hoop. Transmissions must have all forward and reverse gears. Exhaust must run under car and discharge behind driver. Drive shaft (if applicable) must be painted white and have a safety loop in the front six inches. Engines must be stock. One twelve volt battery only. Must be isolated from driver.

Safety equipment: High back aluminum race seat only. Five point racing seatbelts and harness required. Window net required and must be mounted with latch at top front of drivers window. All bars around driver must be padded. Snell-rated SA2000 or SA2005 helmet required. Approved full fire suit, neck brace, gloves, and shoes required.

Eldon Raceway Hobby Stock Rules

Frames: No Camaro, Firebird, or Mustangs. Any American OEM full body, rear wheel drive, passenger car 1960 or newer. No station wagons, convertibles, front wheel drive, or rear engined cars. Minimum 110 inch wheelbase for unibody cars, 107 inch for full frame cars. Maximum 1 inch difference side to side. Frames may be X braced. Unibodies must be tied front frame to rear frame. Frame must match body, GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc. From a point no further forward than 1 inch behind factory seam, maybe replaced in OEM location, with 2x3 steel tubing with .095 wall thickness, same length as material removed. Factory seam must remain visible.

Roll cage: Must be at least 1 ¾ x.095 tubing, four post cage. Must be welded to frame. Rear hoop must have X brace. Minimum of one crossbar in top halo. Rear kickers and front hoop must be at least 1 ¼ tubing. May be two bars in front of radiator for protection. Must be behind bumper. Must have fuel cell protection inside trunk area. All bars front to rear, must be inside body. Minimum of three horizontal door bars on each side. Drivers side required to have steel door plate, 18 gauge (.049) minimum thickness. Should cover the area from the rear down post to five inches in front of the seat.

Drivers compartment: Minimum of three windshield bars in front of driver. (3/8 minimum material) Aluminum high back seat only. Drivers seat to be no further back then rear edge of B-pillar. Dash not to extend more than 24 inches back from center of lower windshield opening. Dash must be flat except for cowl in front of driver. Driver must be sealed off from track, fuel cell, drive line, and engine compartment. No cutting out of fire walls, floor pans, trunk panels, except for roll cage clearance. Maximum 7 inch sun visor may be added to top of windshield opening only.

Body: Bodies must be unaltered OEM in OEM location and match frame. Sun roofs and T-tops must be enclosed. Aftermarket nose pieces allowed. No spoilers, hood scoops, ground effects or skirting allowed. Unaltered steel trunk and hoods only, no gutting. Front inner wheel wells may be removed. Rear wheel wells may be removed to inner seam. (plastic in other half)

Front suspension: Must be original stock OEM in stock location. Racing shocks and springs allowed. Bolt on spindle savers allowed. No sway bars, spring spacers, chains or cables.

Steering: Steering must be unaltered OEM in stock location and must match frame used. No steering quickener. No rack and pinion. Steering wheel and quick release may be aluminum.

Shocks: One unaltered steel shock. Non adjustable, non take apart shock. No eliminators. Must be stock location. Must have stock mounts.

Springs: One steel spring per wheel in OEM location. Spring must be a minimum of 4 ½ inches O.D. No adjustable spring spacers. Non adjustable OK.
Rear suspension: All components must be steel unaltered OEM, in OEM location. No independent rear suspension. No sway bars, panard bar, spring spacers, rubbers, chains or cables.

Rear-end: No floater rear-ends. Nine inch ford rear-ends OK but must be mounted and centered as original. Must be welded spiders or mini spool. No torque driving differentials.

Bumpers: OEM bumpers in stock location. Maximum 1x2 inch steel rub rail bolted to body. Tow hooks mandatory front to rear.

Brakes: OEM brakes front to rear. Front disk and drum rear. No aftermarket brake pedal assemblies. No brake shut offs or bias adjusters. All four wheels must have working brakes at all times.

Exhaust: No headers, must be cast iron exhaust manifolds. No center dump type manifolds. Exhaust must extend past firewall.

Weight: No ballast allowed.

Battery: One 12 volt battery only. Battery should be mounted in trunk area. Recommended to be fully enclosed.

Gauges: No digital gauges. No ignition control boxes. OEM ignitions only. Only one coil can be used. Kill switch required within easy reach of driver.

Fuel: Gasoline only. No alcohol. No electric fuel pumps. 22 gallon maximum fuel cell required. Mechanical OEM push rod type fuel pump only. If fuel line goes through drivers compartment, it must run through metal pipe or conduit. Fuel cell vent must have check valve. No fuel filters in drivers compartment. Only one filter. No cool cans.

Drive shaft: Steel drive shaft only. Must be painted white. 2 inch minimum diameter. Drive shaft safety loop must be 6 inches back from the front U joint.

Wheels: Maximum 7 inch wide. Reinforcing of stock wheels recommended. No mag wheels. One inch steel lug nuts required. Tires must be inside the body. All wheels must be the same size.

Tires: No mud, snow or all terrain tires allowed. No softening, grooving, grinding, or sipping of tires. Stock OEM passenger car tires only. Must be same on all four corners. OEM 205/75 or 205/70, 14 inch or 15 inch.

Transmission: All forward and reverse gears must work. Manual must be unaltered 3 or 4 speed with OEM single disk clutch. Must have an steel explosion proof bell housing. No light weight bell housings. Stock OEM flywheels only. No lightened or aluminum flywheels. Automatic: must be unaltered OEM with unaltered pump, with functional torque converter. Minimum of 3 quarts of fluid. Flexplate must be OEM. Must have scattershield minimum of 270 degrees around top of bellhousing.

Engine compartment: Engines must be in OEM location. May use steel mounts, but no midplates allowed. Must be GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc. Cross member must not be altered.

Carb: Unaltered OEM two barrel carb for that engine, except Boosters may be machined to .250 inch and venturi I.D. machined to 1.375 inch on Rochester carb. Must removed carburetor choke plate. No carb spacers. One .250 thick (max) gasket only.

Engine: 360 9 to 1
Any American make of engine. Steel blocks, heads, passenger production only. No GM bowtie, Ford SVO, or Chrysler W blocks. GM approved block numbers: 3892657, 3914678, 3932388, 393286, 3956618, 3970000, 3970006, 3970006, 3970010, 3970014, 10066033, 10066036, 14010207, 14010209, 14010287, 14016376, 14016379, 10054727, 14088528, 14088548, 14088552, 14093638, 14101148. Stroke must match block. No 400 or larger cubic inch parts allowed. GM/361 cubic inches, Chrysler/370 cubic inches, Ford/363 cubic inches. Maximum compression ratio 9 to 1 no tolerance.
Cylinder heads must be unaltered approved and minimum 76cc combustion chamber. GM approved head numbers: 14079267, 3986336, 3986339, 3986339x, 3986388, 3932441, 376445, 3928454, 3932454, 3876487, 3973487, 3973487x, 3973493, 3951598, 468642, 330862, 333882, 3998920, 3998991, 3998993, 3998997, 3970126:Ford, no after market or SVO heads: Chrysler, no after market or W-2 heads, 360 cubic inch heads only. No porting, polishing or altering of any kind to heads and intake manifold. Must have cast iron two barrel manifold. No high rise manifolds. Studs can be pinned or use none shoulder type screw in. Roller TIP rockers OK. OEM type harmonic balancers only. Aluminum water pumps OK.

Claim rules: Claims must be made immediately after the race (no going to the pits first, must drive directly to claim area). Claimed engines must be removed within one hour after the final race. Only driver may agree or not to agree to sell. Claim can only be made to track officials at claim area. Must have correct money in hand with Eldon Raceway claim card. Must tell officials of intent to claim. First sell or no sell is binding by a driver. Refusal to sell will result loss of winnings for this event, and all points up to this time, a 14 day suspension, and a $250.00 fine before returning. Fine money will go to points fund. Second refusal will result in same penalty. Third refusal won’t happen. No driver can claim more than twice during the season. Claiming driver must finish in top 4 after making a claim to be eligible to claim again. Once he/she finishes in the top 4, they will be issued another Eldon Raceway claim card. Except for the first night, drivers must be there the previous 2 weeks to be eligible to claim.

Claim does not include: clutch, pressure plate, bell housing, exhaust manifold, carburetor, starter, motor mounts, oil temp sending unit, carb spacer, fan and pulleys, clutch ball, throw out arm and bearing, dipstick, water pump, fuel pump, distributor, plug wires, water outlet and restrictors and breathers.
Cost: If you are the claiming driver you must have your Eldon Raceway claim card and $300.00 cash on you. You will give the one you are claiming (top 4 only) your engine and $300.00 ($25.00 to each wrecker for pulling motor=$50.00). Therefore, the one getting claimed will receive an engine and $250.00.

Eldon Raceway StockCar Rules

Frame: No Camaro, Firebird, or Mustang. Must be American OEM full body, rear wheel drive passenger car frame.(full frame or unibody) Must be GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc. 1980 or newer Ford unibody can be installed on Ford full frame. Frames and cross members must not be altered. Rear frame, behind rear tires, from a point no further forward than 1 inch behind factory seam, may be replaced in OEM location with 2 x 3 inch steel tubing with .095 inch wall. Factory seam must remain visible. Frames can be X braced. Minimum 107.5 wheelbase, no more than 1 inch difference side to side.

Body and Drivers compartment: 1970 or newer U.S. manufactured full body passenger car. Floor pan must remain OEM for the frame used. No gutting of floor pan. Driver compartment openings must all be sealed off with metal. If using the newer body style on an older chassis, body must be squared up on chassis, not offset to the left. May use after market plastic nose and tail pieces. Front wheel wells may be removed. Front and rear inner wheel wells may be gutted. No spoilers, hood scoops, or ground effects. Windows must remain open, except Opera windows may be covered with lexan. Minimum of 3 windshield bars in front of driver. Aluminum high back seats only. No further back then rear edge of B-pillar on Ford and 1987 and older bodies. Using 1988-1996 GM bodies, seat can be no further back than rear edge of rear foot well. Dash must not extend back no more than 24 inches from the center of lower windshield opening. Dash must be flat, except for cowl in front of driver. No mirrors. No driver adjustable devises in car except Front to Rear brake adjuster.

Roll Cage: Must be at least 1.750 x .095 tubing. Four post cage. Must be welded to frame. Rear hoop must have X brace. Minimum of one cross bar in top halo. Rear kickers and front hoop must be minimum 1.250 tubing. May be two bars in front of radiator for protection. Must be behind bumper. Must have fuel cell protection inside trunk area. All bars front and rear must be inside body . Three horizontal door bars on each side. Drivers side recommended to have steel door plate, 18 gauge (.049) minimum thickness. Should cover the area from the rear downpost to 5 inches in front of the seat.

Battery: One 12 volt battery only.

Exhaust: Round tube headers only. Must be mounted in such a way to direct gases away from cockpit of vehicle.

Fuel Cell: 22 gallon maximum fuel cell required. Must be enclosed in steel container. Fire wall must be between fuel cell and driver. Fuel vents must have check valves. Fuel line through drivers compartment must be in metal pipe or conduit. Gas only. Only one fuel filter between fuel cell and carburetor. No cool cans.

Shocks: One steel, non adjustable, unaltered shock per wheel. No coil over eliminators.

Springs: One steel spring per wheel. Minimum of 4.5 O.D.

Front suspension: Weight jacks optional. Front suspension and steering must be unaltered OEM in stock location. No sway bars. Stock passenger car spindles only, no fabricated spindles. Bottom A-frames cannot be altered or moved. Upper tubular A-arms OK. All suspension parts must be steel. Steering quickner, steering wheel, and quick release may be aluminum.

Rear suspension: Must be stock unaltered OEM, in stock location. Coil springs may be moved. Shocks may be moved but remain behind rearend housing. Rear suspension must match frame. Stock componets only. No panard bars. No aluminum, except lowering blocks,axle cap, and drive flange. No quick change devises. No cambered rearends. No torque dividing differentials. No traction control. No titanium or aluminum parts on car anywhere. Rearend may be any approved OEM passenger car or truck. Floaters recommended.

Bumpers: Front and Rear tow hooks mandatory. Oem bumpers not covered by plastic nose or tail pieces must be complete OEM with no sharp edges. Aftermarket bumpers can be fabricated with 1.5 tubing in front and 1.75 tubing in rear, but must be covered with plastic nose or rear cover.

Brakes: Must be operating all four disk or drum combo. No electronic brake actuators. Vented rotors only, no scalloped rotors. Rotors cannot be lightened. No brake floaters. One proportioning device allowed (front to rear only)

Electronics: No transmitting or listening devises. No adjustable ignition boxes. Only one ignition box allowed. No magnetos. No traction control.

Drive shaft: Minimum two inch diameter steel. Steel slip joints only. Must be painted white. Must have driveshaft safety loop six inches back from front U-joint.

Tires and Wheels: Must be 15 x 8. A beadlock may be used on right rear only. Steel only. Bleeder valves not allowed. One foam or plastic mud cap allowed on right rear only. Tires may be American Racer G60 or KK-704 stamped or non stamped. Must be Asphalt compound (no dirt) Grooving Is allowed on American Racers. IMCA Hoosier tire will also be allowed, but no grooving.

Weights: May not be used in drivers compartment.All weights should be securely fastened with two ½ inch bolts. Must be painted white, with your car number on them. Weights cannot be mounted to your rear bumper.

Transmission: Only OEM type transmissions allowed. 3 speed, 4 speed, or automatic. All manual transmissions must have an external clutch in an explosion proof bellhousing. Automatics must remain in OEM stock appearing case with functioning stock appearing pump.Must have an approved scattersheild or blanket. Bert and Brinn type transmissions are NOT allowed.

Engine: Must be GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc. Engines must be stock appearing, no grinding or altering outside of engine. Must use stock firing order. Motor mounts cannot be removed. No aluminum heads or blocks. Flat tappet cams only. Roller Rockers OK. No cubic inch limit. No electric or belt driven pumps. Cast iron intake, or IMCA type aluminum manifolds OK. Aluminum water pumps allowed. 23 degree motors only.

Carb: One two barrel carburetor. Motorcraft, Rochester, or Holley. Maximum 1 3/4 butterfly bore at base plate.

Weight rule: 3000 pounds after race, no tolerance.
No titanium or aluminum suspension parts.No titanium anywhere on car.

Claim Rule: Claims must be made immediately after race (no going to pits first, must drive directly to claim area) Claimed engines must be removed within one hour after final race. Eldon Raceway Modified Rules

Frame and cage: Any OME 1960 or newer perimeter American made 2wheel drive passenger car frame only. Frame cannot be widened or narrowed, and must be able to support roll cage on both sides. Frames may be cut a maximum 36 inches forward from center of rear end housing. Frames may be cut for radiator clearance, and or steering clearance. They can be altered for installation of springs and shocks. Minimum 108 inch wheelbase, both sides, no tolerance. Minimum frame and body height from ground is 4 inches (except front cross member) Maximum overall width of car shall not exceed 78 inches from outside of tread to outside of tread. Cage shall be 1 ¾ round steel tubing, low carbon or mild steel recommended. Must be frame mounted. Drivers head must not protrude above cage with helmet on and strapped in. Braces forward must be no higher than hood height. Minimum of 3 door bars 1 ¾ tubing, or 4 door bars with 1 ½ tubing. Recommended to have steel door plate, 18 gauge (.049 thick) securely welded to outside drivers door bars, from top bar to bottom bar, and from rear hoop to 5 inches in front of seat. Front bumper must be 2 bars parallel to ground, going from frame end. 1 ¼ minimum tubing. Back bumper and side rails must not be extended beyond the width of the tires. Rear bumper must protect fuel cell. Recommended 1 ¾ bumper with 1 ½ fuel cell guard.

Body must be same width front to rear. Engine compartment must be open (no side panels) Hood must be enclosed in back. No panel at right door to engine compartment. Must have window post. Must have at least a 12 inch window opening on both sides. Sail panels must be same design. Solid panel across the back must be at least 8 inch high and securely fastened. A maximum rear spoiler height of 8 inches of total material will be allowed for utilizing the USRA type flat tappet/ steel head or brodix aluminum spec head engine options, but aluminum headed motors must meet Eldon Raceway weight rules. All other combinations will be allowed a 5 inch spoiler. Aluminum or fiberglass roofs. Body should be no farther forward than the back of the block. No rudders on front nose piece or hood will be allowed. Outside of tires must be the widest part of car.

Driver compartments must have minimum of three windshield bars in front of driver. Screen optional, but recommended. Complete floor pan. Driver must be sealed off from racing surface. Aluminum racing seats only. Accumulators cannot be mounted between driver and side door bars. No adjustable devises allowed in cockpit except brake adjuster (front to rear only) No mirrors.

Front suspension components must be steel, Stock or fabricated lowers. Uppers may be tubular with aluminum or steel cross shaft. Lower A arm mounts must be in stock location.

Steering: No rack and pinion. All components must be stock unaltered for frame used. Outer tie rod adjustment sleeve may be replaced by a minimum .625 inch steel helm and steel tube. Spindles must be stock OEM. Spindle savers allowed. Steering quickner, quick release, and steering wheel may be aluminum. No center steering.
One steel shock per wheel.
Front springs: One steel coil spring per wheel. Must be at least 4.5 O.D.

Rear suspension: No independent rear suspension. May be altered to except coil springs or leaf springs. Steel coil over eliminators or steel or aluminum coil over allowed, must meet shock and spring rules One lift bar or pull bar. No chains, cables. (1) Additional shock for lift bar or pull bar OK.

Floater rear ends. All components must be steel, except lowering blocks, axle caps, drive plate. Quick change ok, but will be required to register gear, no gear changes at the track, first time at Eldon Raceway we will allow a gear change after hot laps. No cambered rear-ends, one piece drive flange only. No torque dividing differentials.

Brakes must be steel OEM four wheel disk. Must have vented rotors. Cannot be lightened. Calipers cannot be lightened and must be OEM. Rotors may be redrilled for different bolt pattern and / or bigger studs. No brakes shutoff or pressure sensitive devises. Front to rear proportioning valve OK.

One 12 volt battery only. Must be securely mounted.

Exhaust must be mounted in such away to direct gasses away from cockpit.

No transmitting or listening devices. No computer of any sort on car. No adjustable ignition boxes. One twelve volt ignition box allowed, must be out of drivers reach. No magnetos. No traction control.

Drive shaft can be a minimum 2 inch in diameter. Steel only. Must be painted white. Shall have drive shaft safety loop in car, mounted 6 inches back from front U-joint.

Rear of engine must be at least 72 inches from centerline of rear end to back of engine block. (Bellhousing flange) Minimum of 11 inches from ground to front center of crankshaft. Wet sump systems only. Motor mounts cannot be removed or altered. Steel blocks only. Castings and fittings cannot be changed. Radiator must be in front of engine.

One two barrel, four barrel carb allowed. Gas or alcohol. No fuel injection. No nitrous. No electric fuel pumps. Fuel cell required. 32 gallon maximum. Must have check valves. No additives of any kind (top lube OK for alky) No cool cans.

Transmissions must have at least two forward gears and one reverse. Must be able to move car forward and backwards with engine running. Manual OEM production type transmissions 3 or 4 speed. No in/out boxes. Must be clutch operated. Clutches must be inside explosion proof bellhousing. Automatic must remain in OEM case with functioning OEM appearing pump. Must have a 3 inch by 3/16 inch steel scatter shield 270 degrees around flexplate area. Bert/Brinn type transmissions must be aluminum case. Can use aluminum bell housing, but must be SFI approved. GM bell housings are not approved.

Any added weight to car must be painted white with your car number on it. Must be held with at least two ½ inch bolts. No weights in drivers compartment. All weights should be mounted inside any add all body panels.

No titanium or aluminum suspension parts. No titanium any where on car. 23 degree motors only.

Cars with steel headed engine must weigh 2400# minimum after race. No tolerance. Cars with aluminum headed engines must weigh 2500# minimum after race, and must have at least 50# mounted in front of motor plate. Weights in front of motor plate will be checked, so be prepared to remove them. No tolerance on over all weight of car, but will allow 5% (2 ½#) on weights in front of engine plate. Checked by our scales.

Tires can be American Racer G60 or KK-704 stamped or non stamped legal. Must be asphalt compound (no dirt) Grooving is allowed on American Racers. IMCA Hoosier tires will be allowed, grooving ok also.

Wheels must be 15x8. A beadlock may be used on right rear only. Steel only. One foam or plastic mud cap allowed on right rear or right front.

Claim does not include: Clutch, pressure plate, bell housing, headers, carburetor, starter motor mounts, oil temp sending units, carb spacer, fan and pulleys, clutch ball, throw out arm or bearing, dip stick, water pump, fuel pump, rod and plate, distributor, plug wires, water outlet and restrictor, and breathers.

Costs: If you are the claiming driver, you must have your Eldon Raceway claim card and $500 cash on you. You will give the one you are claiming (top four only) your engine and $500 ($25. goes to each wrecker for pulling motor =$50) therefore, the one getting claimed, gets an engine and $450.
